Vega Brhely studied at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago before graduating from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, Colorado with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She was chosen to participate in an advanced placement Sports Medicine internship working with Division I athletes at CU and specializes in Trigger Point Therapy and Sports Acupuncture. Her training includes both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture, as well as adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, tui na, shiatsu, cupping, auriculotherapy, gua sha, electroacupuncture, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
Vega is nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), meeting the requirements of at least 1,490 hours of clinical and classroom training in acupuncture and biomedicine, as well as 2,050 hours of clinical and classroom training in Chinese herbal medicine. She is licensed in the state of Colorado as well as the state of Utah. An avid cyclist and skier, Vega wants nothing more than to share her passion for movement with others and help them achieve their optimal physical performance. She understands the importance of getting you back on the bike and doing what you love as quickly and safely as possible. With specialty training in Taoist alchemical acupuncture, she not only focuses on healing the body but also assists the mind in moving through difficult emotions that arise due to injury or other trauma. Vega holds full certification from Retül fit school, BikeFit, Level 2 ISCO (International School of Cycling Optimization), and is currently a Level 3 fitter and member of the International Bike Fitting Institute. She holds an active USA Cycling Coaching License. She is also the Founder and President of Inspire Cycling, a women's cycling collective in the Roaring Fork Valley. |
